1st Quarter Kindergarten Expectations:
Science/Social Studies:
LISTENING SKILLS, SHARING, TAKING TURNS, FOLLOWING THE RULES ARE EXPECTED.
- Recognize 13 capital letters and 13 lower case letters
- Begin to identify letter sounds
- Recognize numbers 0-10
- Count to 25 (count to 100 by the end of the year)
- Begin to recognize sight words (48 by the end of year)
- Write first name legibly
- Recognize all capital letters and all lower case letters
- Identify letter sounds
- Recognize numbers 0-20
- Count to 50 (count to 100 by the end of the year)
- Begin to recognize sight words ( 48 by the end of year)
- Write first name legibly (last name for 3rd quarter)
- Recognize all capital and lower case letters
- Say all letter sounds
- Recognize numbers 0-20
- Count to 75 (count to 100 by the end of the year)
- Read sight words (48 by the end of year)
- Write first and last name
- Recognize all capital and lower case letters
- Say all letter sounds
- Recognize numbers 0-20
- Count to 100
- Read all sight words
- Write first and last name
Science/Social Studies:
- Activities are through our units, seasons, Weekly Readers, and reading series.
- We learn to form the letters correctly and place them appropriately on the line.
- We write daily in our journals.
- We have a variety of books for the children’s use.
- We have daily “Specials” with are Music, P.E., Library, and Computer Lab.
- Our P.E. coach has requested the children wear tennis shoes for P.E.
- PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO TEACH YOUR CHILD TO TIE THEIR SHOES
